Consciously Lighting our Lives
Posted June 1st, 2008 by orneshaDoes it really matter what type of light bulbs you buy? Do you think that buying a different kind of light bulb will assist in helping the earth with its global warming?
You could, you know, go through your day without thinking "green" and the world would still be here tomorrow, seemingly unaffected by your choice of leaving all of those compact fluorescent light bulbs on the store shelves. The store shelves don’t mind. They don’t even notice that you walked right past them without stopping to say hello. ...read more
Which hot water heater is right for you?
Posted July 16th, 2007 by orneshaWhen searching for a new or replacement hot water heater for your home, it’s always a good idea to do a little research. Luckily, we’ve gone ahead and done some comparisons for you to give you a bit of a jumpstart and hopefully make it an easier process.
When I bought my new (to me) home, I understood that I had a "job" to do. It was to assist in bringing this 100+ year old beautiful and traditional adobe home into the new earth in a way to would truly honor it. This understanding, however, came to me about three days after I’d officially moved in! And so, I’d had many hours before that revelation to be completely nuts while running on "the moving in" mode. ...read more
Different Types of Solar Powered Electrical Systems
Posted May 22nd, 2008 by orneshaSolar power can supply electrical energy to RVs, homes, and commercial buildings. There are different types of solar power systems that are used. In some cases there is a choice to be made, but in some applications the decision is obvious.
Take for example a solar power system to be used for an RV, a portable power system or a remote vacation cabin. A small stand-alone system would be the best type to use. These systems are economical, as they have a smaller number of solar panels and batteries than a larger stand-alone system. ...read more
New Energy Technology by Dr. Steven Burnham, PhD
Posted May 23rd, 2008 by orneshaAlthough thermoelectrics have been around for over 100 years we at Burnham Engineering have developed a new material process that makes the devices better than 97% efficient.
We have built many prototypes all with excellent results. One test unit was a low cost electric scooter made in China capable of only 40 miles max with an 8 hour charge, with our unit installed it made over 1200 miles and still had a 55% battery reserve.
As well we have developed units for automotive, home, business and marine use, all free energy with a wonderful by-product heating and cooling, the low down rotten shame is we can’t find a dimes worth of funding to launch a company, no interest out there other than a Saudi group willing to buy it outright for chump change. ...read more
World's First Village That Runs on 100% Solar
Posted April 22nd, 2008 by orneshaIt’s been one of the ironies in the energy equation - we have the energy from the sun all around us, many times more than what all of together on earth require, yet capturing and utilising that energy has been much more difficult and costly than one would like.
This has not stopped the solariphiles from looking forward to the day when the sun will power most of, or all, our energy needs.
Well, while that day might still be far off for most of the world, it already has arrived for a small village in South Korea. This village has achieved what even the most powerful countries in the world are still struggling to accomplish: total energy independence with clean technology. ...read more
Now You Can Brew Your Own Fuel

What if you could make fuel for your car in your backyard, and that too for less than what you pay at the pump? Would you take it? Of course you would, or at least most likely would. ...read more
Rockport Missouri produces 123% Energy Through Wind
Posted June 5th, 2008 by ornesha"ROCK PORT - It wasn’t a ribbon cutting ceremony, it wasn’t a ground breaking– it was all about throwing a switch.
Welcome to Rock Port on Thursday, where the temperature was 44 degrees and the wind was blowing like crazy.
"What’s interesting is my husband is in the oil business but that’s alright, we’re thrilled to have wind energy here. As Americans we need to get more independent," Rock Port resident Kim Bunton said. ...read more

Solar Energy
Posted April 20th, 2008 by orneshaSolar energy
is the heat and light radiated from the Sun that powers Earth’s climate and supports life. Solar technologies allow controlled use of this energy resource. Solar power is a synonym of solar energy or refers specifically to the conversion of sunlight into electricity by photovoltaics, concentrating solar thermal devices and various experimental technologies. ...read more
"Green Gasoline" Biofuel Breakthrough
Posted July 10th, 2008 by orneshaIf this is true, it would surely stop rising food and fuel prices. But sadly, it will get buried by environmentalists and our corrupt political system.
This Ethanol fiasco has shown us one thing; we should eat our vegetables, and not burn them for fuel. Now is the time to open ANWR and the other drilling opportunities being held hostage by environmentalists and special interest lobby monies. We should build new refineries and end this moronic crap before corrupt Politicians put an end to the greatest country God has ever created. ...read more
Waste Heat Converted To Energy
Posted July 16th, 2008 by orneshaProduce electricity from low temp water
When energy is made from heat mostly steam is used to drive a generator. To make efficient use of wasted heat it should be possible to make electricity from water with a temperature lower than 100°C. This would make a couple things possible: ...read more
Geothermal Energy
Posted April 1st, 2008 by ornesha
In the debate over alternative energy resources, geothermal technology has received scant media attention. Advocates call it one of the cleanest, sustainable energy resources
available. However, steep construction, equipment and drilling costs have prevented more widespread development of geothermal technology. An Ohio University hydrothermal systems expert is working to change that.
Geothermal technology harnesses energy created by heat at the Earth’s core. Internationally, geothermal power plants supply electricity to about 60 million people, mostly in developing countries. In the United States, geothermal power plants supply four million residents with electricity. ...read more
