Green tea is an unfermented tea. It is produced by panning freshly picked leaves of a Camellia Sinensis tree at high temperature for a short period of time to stop oxidation before it starts, effectively preserving most of the Polyphennols. Today, Green Tea is enjoyed as the world’s second most popular beverage and as well continues to provide unparalleled health benefits. Furthermore, recent studies show that pigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) found in Green Tea, is the key chemical compound that provides numerous health benefits. Thus, it is essential to consume Green Tea that is rich in EGCG.
